I am a graduate of Counselling & Psychotherapy BSc (hons) professional practice at the University of Salford Manchester where I also qualified in Transactional Analysis (certificate level) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.  A registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

My counselling practice has included work within the NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service where I worked mostly with adults.  Additionally, I have enjoyed many challenging yet successful therapeutic relationships with teenagers at the Brook (sexual health clinic) with issues such as rape, sexual abuse,  abortion, loss, anxiety, depression,  low self esteem and family/relationship problems.

I have an interest in working therapeutically around relational issues. I also have a particular interest in the existentialist philosophy/counselling and how this offers a view of ones problems as challenges of living, rather than symptoms of psychopathology.

In addition to counselling, my background of the past ten years has been within the mental health field working one to one with individuals who have been troubled with a severe mental health diagnosis.  These experiences have been with a diverse range of people with a broad range of issues in which I felt privileged to have been part of their journey.
