I am a graduate of Counselling & Psychotherapy BSc (hons) professional practice at the University of Salford Manchester. I am a  registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

My counselling practice has included work within the NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service where I worked mostly with adults.  Additionally, I have enjoyed many challenging yet successful therapeutic relationships with teenagers within a sexual health clinic with issues such as rape, sexual abuse,  abortion, loss, anxiety, depression,  low self esteem and family/relationship problems.

I have an interest in working therapeutically around relational issues and also trauma.  I also have a particular interest in the existentialist philosophy/counselling and how this offers a view of ones problems as challenges of living, rather than symptoms of psychopathology.

Prior to qualifying as a Counsellor & Psychotherapist  I worked within the mental Health field where I assessed vulnerable adults for acceptance to the service. I was able to develop my skills and training in around complex mental health disorders which involved helping client's to establish better coping strategies, develop healthy relationships, gain greater insight into their mental health and minimise risk of suicide. These experiences have been with a diverse range of people with a broad range of issues.
